Kate Challenges: Our Winner

Today is the last day for Kate Challenges. And I have our winners!!!! The Winners of the Kate Challenges are: ARI AND CRYSTAL! Congratulations Ari and Crystal for doing such a great job! New Faces and Old

Making new friends can be challenging and keeping old friends is even harder. Sometimes you'll get into fights over silly or serious things that can break up your friendship forever. When you and your friend are in a fight I suggest that you talk to your friend instead of the silent treatment. You don't even know why she's upset do you? And does she know why you are? NOPE!!! You have to talk it out together and try to understand him/her. Next time your best friend from since preschool gets into a fight with you remember what you have read.

And now you all may want to know hats a good strategy for meeting new people and getting to know them and maybe even become their friend is. The best place to go and make new friends is a new activity. Take a cooking class, sign up for a sports team, audition for a play, or join an art club. Do something you will enjoy because most likely the people around will like some of the same things you do. Once you're in a friendly and comfortable environment, look for someone who is alone, because you will be less nervous and they are likely to also need a friend. After you find someone you want to talk to, the rest is simple: Say "Hello my name is....." and THAT'S how it all starts. Just keep the conversations going and try to meet up with him/her other places. Soon you've got a friendship you both will treasure!

Hey Guys! I am now starting this new thing called "Kate Challenges". Each time I write a post, at the end of the post I will come up with a challenge. When you complete a challenge write a comment about how you completed the challenge under the post. Also, you may privatly tell me instead of commenting.The end date is August 15th and whoever has the most completed challenges will WIN A PRIZE (Which I haven’t come up with just yet, and I haven’t figured out if I will be able to get it to you… I figure it out… I hope)

Moving Out

Moving to a new house can be hard, stressful, and upsetting. Even if your just moving around the corner! I know from personal experience. All day your going and getting stuff from the old house, it either super hot or super cold, everything is everywhere and you are BORED!!! Plus, there may be no Internet for blogging! Anyway, you think that its so terrible now, but just wait. Once you are settled in and comfortable, it will be the best thing you have ever done. You will be in a cleaner bigger house or apartment and I am sure you'll be happy. Summer's here and maybe you will meet some nice neighbors. The best thing to do in the process of moving is work hard stay strong and remember that when its all over, you know you'll be happy.

50th POST!!!!!!!

Here is my 50the post!!!! I wanted to do something really special, but I wasn't sure what to do! But I finally decided to do it on cyber bullying, because I am part of the cyber world. Cyber bullying is like bullying, but on the Internet. If someone is putting rude comments about you or insulting you on the Internet, I think that cyber bullying is the worst because many people can see it if its on a public site. Its humiliating, but that's the way it is. Sometimes the bully might be anonymously doing it so they won't get in trouble. My advice is to ignore it, because the bully will realize it has no affect on you and leave you alone. Also you should go to an adult you trust. They won't make it worse, in fact they might even stop it.

I also have an important announcement. My sister, Ari, has also accomplished the goal of creating a blog. She wanted me to inform you that it is open to all, and It would make her happy if you would check it out. It's called "Young Writer", here is the link:

Hi Kate! Is it too late to give it a shot?I think in the center of the table there should be a horn of plenty filled with pictures of the guests attending, some leaves, orange and red flowers, magnolias. Maybe the napkins could be in the shape of a turkey. Fancy glasses, plates with leaves painted on them. Hand-Made turkeys and leaves around the house. And if some of the guests are kids have coloring pages and construction paper and markers and craons out and ready. Now for the food. Turkey of course! Cranberry sauce, stuffing, Hawian Bread, ham, broccoli, cream corn, mash potatoes, gravy, sweetpotatoes with marshmellows cinamin and brown sugar, french bread, cranberry wine, or for younger kids cranberry juice with sprite, soda, water juice.For dessert. Pear tart, cranberry pie, homemade pumpkin pie with whip cream, homemade apple pie, moose tracks ice cream, coffe, tea, milkshake, hot coco. That's all I got.;)HOPE THEY HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!:)

Food? Pah, that's an easy prompt. ;-)Okay, okay. This is the contest you mentioned, right? Okay.... er.Well, first of all, and most naturally, she should have a turkey. (No, really? ;-)) Unless, of course, everyone is allergic to turkey for some odd reason, in which case, ham. A big ham. She should totally have either 1. Mashed Potatoes, or 2. Scalloped potatoes, my personal favorite. They are delicious. Or, if she felt like it and had a recipe for it, cheesy potato casserole. Something with potatoes. ;-)Green bean Casserole is like... tradition.Stuffing. (doink.)Desserts: Pie. Apple, Pumpkin, Pecan.... anything, just make pie. Pie is delicious. However, if she was making pie, she'd better get either whipped cream or ice cream to go with it. :-)Decorations: Maybe like those autumn leaves that she can put on the table or whatever.... er. Oh, and before I forget: Martinelli's. :-D It's a tradition at my house. It's like apple cider.... but not.... it's cold for one thing.

Is this the contest you were talking about? All about food I see. I am so THERE! Food is my favorite subject. Uhhh, lets take a crack at this while I am here. Lets do a list!1. Turkey and other meats: some chicken, beef, ham.2. Deserts! Pie, cake, eclairs, ice cream, what ever you like. 3. All sorts of condiments: salt, pepper, anything.4. Decorations are a given. So, some classics will do, pumpkins, those weird shaped things that you stuff with fruits and veggies. Thats all I got.

I Finally have Anna's Prize: Crushes!

Anna has asked me to give advice on if you have a crush. If you have a crush and you care about them so much and you are dying, show them you like them. If it doesn't work out it probably wasn't meant to be, no matter how much you liked them. Or if you'd rather, you could get to know them better. I would tell Jhon to do a variaty of things. He could:1. Just ignore it and go "trick or treating" with another friend or family member/members2. He could tell his parents what they were doing and ask if he could just stay home and give Kyle and Jonathan a reason why he can't go with them.3. He come right out and state that he does not want to do it and why. Then just walk away. 4. He could tell the police/other authority figure what they were planning and when/where.If he were to do one of these things, then he could stay out of trouble and maybe save them from trouble.

Halloween Contest!!!

My friend Kel came up with this great contest criteria:

Jhon was planning on 'Trick or Treating' with his friends Kyle and Jonathen. However Kyle and Jonathen are going to Toilet Paper an elderly ladies home and Jhon is good friends with that nice women. They are also going to break into the abandoned house and vandalize it. He was always told "Treat others as you want to be treated" and he would never want that to happen to him. He knows if he does go with them he can get into a lot of trouble, not only with his parents, but also with the police. But he also knows if he doesn't go with them, they'll call him names like "SCARDEY CAT" and "CHICKEN", and they'll make fun of him for a LONG time! If you were him what would you do? What advice or comments do you have to share with him? The best comments and advice wins!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Being yourself is a very important concept in life. If you pretend to be someone your not, you may feel uncomfortable around people you know, and have to pretend all the time. If you do this, people wont trust you, they'll remember that you had lied to them. And the most important thing of all is that if you don't be yourself, the main person you lie to is so important: YOU.

So don't lie to yourself next time someone tells you "oh I don't like Katy Perry" or "I don't like sports" because being you is what makes you special, don't let anything or anyone take that away!!!!
